Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst — Kendrick Lamar
Some songs deserve the time they ask for. Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst is a two-part piece from Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city. The album's original release announcement fixes its date at October 22, 2012. That anniversary is a reason to return, but the recording itself is the reason to stay. Hear the two parts as a complete sequence if your connected music service supports full tracks. Follow whose perspective is being voiced, then notice what changes in the storytelling and musical setting as the second part arrives. Resist turning it into a checklist of influences on the first pass. The space to listen is the point of this selection. Here is Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst. Hear Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst by Kendrick Lamar.
The next step can be the surrounding album. If a particular sound caught your ear, ask the DJ to investigate its source with the credits in view. For this story, the invitation is simply to return to a substantial recording and hear it through. Guest playback offers a preview; a connected supported service makes the longer listen possible.
